The woman who thought

she could lie her way out of anything

Susan was denied a SafetyPIN due to her score on our Beacon behavioral review. Her answers indicated a high likelihood of pathological lying. Not long after Susan was declined, the app partner Susan had come through reached out to us, concerned that there may be a problem with our system. Apparently, Susan had told them that her “application froze and filled in all the answers for her.” This immediately set off alarms for us, because that is literally and technically impossible.

The system is simply incapable of doing that under any circumstances. However, because we never share any information regarding declined applications with our app partners, we told them we couldn’t go into detail but that we had been in direct contact with Susan. In fact, when Susan received notice that she was declined, she replied, “Just tell me which answers I got wrong.”  And it didn’t stop there.

Susan continued to mislead our partner app — telling them that there were bugs in our system holding up her approval. All the while she continued requesting that we allow her to retake the behavioral review. In the end, she wrote to the partner app and withdrew her application with them, saying she couldn’t continue since they chose a screening partner whose technology wasn’t working properly. Again, the system was up and running, and operating perfectly. It was as if we were seeing our test results validated in real time.  SafetyPIN and appeal – denied

A SafetyPIN is a digital trust badge that shows an individual has met all the requirements developed by a team of experts in law enforcement and criminal behavior. Every screening includes a broader, more expansive criminal background check, an ID verification, a financial history screening, and the proprietary Beacon Behavioral Review.

When you see a verified SafetyPIN, you know the individual has met our strict requirements – and remains in good standing.  SafetyPIN Technologies is committed to treating everyone with fairness and respect. Therefore, anyone not awarded a SafetyPIN can rest assured that their application, personal information, and the outcome are kept completely confidential.

The Case of the not-so-sober Babysitter

Allison had an active SafetyPIN and was arrested for driving under the influence. As soon as we saw it, we suspended her SafetyPIN while we waited for a final outcome. Almost a year later, she informed us she “will be receiving a Probation Before Judgment in a few months.” That essentially means the court found that she did it, but they are willing to give her a second chance if she doesn’t get charged again over a

The case of the not-so-“amazing person”

Emily received a score on our Beacon behavioral review that was 40% higher than our maximum threshold for appeal. However, we noticed an interesting pattern in her results. In some cases, this pattern could indicate that the person had experienced an abusive relationship — and was trying to prevent being victimized again. So rather than deny her appeal outright, we had an expert

Impulsive, aggressive — and on redial

Alexis came to us through one of our babysitting partners. She didn’t have a criminal record, but she was declined for a SafetyPIN due to her high score on our Beacon behavioral review. The review found that her answers indicated a tendency toward impulsive behavior and the tendency to get aggressive when challenged. Definitely not traits you want in a babysitter! Rather than
